ASD Screening Studies

The University of Michigan Autism and Communication Disorders Center (UMACC) is conducting two screening studies in collaboration with Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.   The goal of these two studies is to create screeners that quickly and accurately identify children who are highly likely to have ASD.  The creation of such measures can significantly reduce the time and expense that is currently required to classify participants into ASD and non-ASD study groups.
Recruitment for the screening studies will begin in March of 2010.    Eligible participants include individuals diagnosed with or suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder or an anxiety disorder. Individuals who are 2-17 are eligible for this study. Participation may include a phone interview, questionnaires, a parent face-to-face interview, and child testing at UMACC.  At the conclusion of their participation, families will receive a brief report of testing results and up to a $100.
