What We Do

What We Do

Research
  • Molecular genetics project, involving families that have more than one child with autism, or two close relatives with autism (cousin-cousin, nephew-uncle)
  • Continuing longitudinal studies on the early diagnosis of autism
  • Studies on the early communication of children at risk for autism
  • Future research projects will be announced
Training
  • Workshops on diagnostic instruments (ADOS, ADI)
  • Training of future professionals interested in autism (graduate students, interns)
Clinical Service
Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations which include:
  • Developmental and/or verbal and nonverbal cognitive assessment
  • Diagnostic assessment using standardized diagnostic instruments
  • Parent interviews
  • Adaptive assessment
  • Written reports summarizing results and recommendations
  • Record review
Follow up intervention services which may include:
  • Consultation to schools
  • Consultation to parents
  • Direct brief intervention with children, with parents as co-therapists
  • Social Group for Adults with ASD
  • Social Group for Teens with ASD
  • Social Group for Boys with ASD
  • Social Group for Girls with ASD
